Food, as a fundamental element of life, serves as a lens through which identity and culture are formed and expressed.
Considering questions such as “What does food tell us about the process of identity formation?”, “What does it say about how people create culture?”, and more specifically “What does the adaptation of a western dish tell us about some aspect of Asian diaspora?”, I wrote and designed a book of nearly 40 pages aiming at illustrating the profound ways in which cultural identity is both shared and manifested through culinary practices.
I concretized these interrogations, making them specific and particular to my interests, focusing on food reinterpretation by the Asian diaspora in North America.
